Here’s a question I get all the time… “Erick, when do YOU get a vacation??”
I got this question a ton at the previous business my wife and I had prior to me opening up this here Workout Hero Club. As you may or may not know, my wife and I have a HUGE love for dogs. ♥
So much so that it led to a dog boarding business we used to own. We were extremely busy in summers… as you can imagine, taking care of people’s amazing, cute, and loveable dogs whilst they were vacationing it up.
So when our eager clients returned from their vacay to pick up their pets, all concerned for our well-being and us getting burned out…
… they would ask us when we got OUR vacation. (We certainly had the sweetest and best-est clients!
Many of which have found their way here and become Workout Heroes… Shout out to you, Ashley, Stephanie and Sara! 🥰)
Whenever we were asked it, each and every time I would respond with: “getting to care for your amazing dog(s) IS the vacation! I DON’T want a break from it!” 🙂
Not one day in that business felt like work. Bit of a long story of what happened and how I ended up starting this Workout Hero brand but the point I want to make is…
… it feels a lot like that here getting to be your Trainer and Guide! It is my joy to honor you.
Only instead of amazing dogs I’m surrounded by and GET to spend time with… it’s my fellow amazing Workout Heroes like you! 🙂
So speaking of vacations… You probably don’t need another reason to take one 😉, but I’m giving you one regardless!
But as it turns out, vacations are seriously good for your health!
And did you know that almost half of all Americans don’t use up all their paid time off every year!?
Here are just a few reasons to book your next break…
Taking vacations is linked with a lower risk of high blood pressure, high blood sugar, and metabolic syndrome — which are all related to heart disease
AND…
during vacations, we’re more active, get more sleep, and have less stress — all of which are tied to better health!
In other studies, active outdoor vacations (like hiking or camping) that last at least a week offer the best health payoffs, but shorter vacations still give you plenty of benefits.
And here’s a bodacious biggie: taking fewer, shorter vacations is better for your health than taking only one big vacation a year, even if it means taking occasional long weekends instead of a full-blown week off.
Since mentioned her earlier, I really admire how Stephanie Pyykola, and her friend Amber do weekends in the summer —
they go to their cabin and have a nice long weekend there.
Live it up, Workout Heroes!
Of course, you’ll get even MORE benefits from your time off if you stick with your healthy habits while you’re there: being active, eating healthy whole foods, etc.
If I can give you one big tip when it comes to eating on your vacations it is this…
… enjoy yourself.
Try whatever foods you want and just keep it within reason.
Keep it controlled.
Don’t go overboard with it.
For example, we just had the Chippewa Fair last weekend and although little Kason was a little young yet for us to go
(he’s a rambunctious toddler that would SPRINT the second we took our eye off of him and probably lose him there)…
… thinking about it brought up childhood memories of my Mom’s favorite food fair she had to have every year… those yummy in the tummy funnel cakes.
Mom would order up one and we all gathered around it sitting on the fair benches enjoying every last bite.
Once it was gone. It was gone.
Until next year. 😉
It just goes to show you that a well-rounded approach is BEST when it comes to reaching your health and fitness goals and why you, the Workout Hero is different.
Looking forward to connecting with you next time,
May you stay on the Path of the Workout Hero because your awesome future awaits!
Your Guide & biggest fan,
Mr Trainer man Erick
P.S. I used to also be a baker, but that didn’t work because I couldn’t make enough dough. 😉
