Best Movie That I Never Want To See Again

Bethany and me had just got done watching one of the most award winning movies of 2022... "The Whale" starring Brendan Fraser...

who would go on to win the Academy Award for Best Actor that year and receive a standing ovation.

The movie finished and both of us sat there in complete utter "stun-ness" (that's a word now)
Eyes really wide open and jaws to the floor 😲.

Sat there like that for a good minute in silence, starring at the credits as they rolled by... recovering from the roller coaster ride of an ending.

I had just been bamboozled by about 7 different emotional experiences all at once.  Sadness. Joy. Disgust. Gratefulness. Anger. Rage.... (as well as emotions there are no words for 🥴)

In case you haven't heard of it, The Whale is a psychological drama about a morbidly obese English teacher, named Charlie, whose is in his last days of life and tries to reconnect with his estranged daughter.

When the movie finished... about a minute passed with Bethany and I in complete silence.

She then calmly asked...

"So, honey, what did you think??"

 "Honestly..." I replied,

"That was one of the best movies I've ever seen...   ...and I never want to see it again."

The reason I bring this movie up is because there are a number of scenes in there that were not pleasant for me to watch.  Like when Charlie binges and gorges down on humoungous amounts of food all at once.

There's this one part where he orders 2 large pizzas at once.
Stacks one piece of pizza on the other, and eats it like a "pizza sandwich".  When it comes to success in this health and fitness world, and success walking the Path of the Workout Hero...

... you don't have to be perfect.

Not by a long shot.
You just have to avoid scenarios like what Charlie was doing there.     Those extreme binge-ing situations.  Not just one time either. You would have to continue to do that day after day. Month after month. Year after year... to really screw things up.  One of the key principles to getting results you've heard me say is this:
"Just be good enough, most of the time"

You can enjoy your life.  Have fitness fit into your lifestyle, not the other way around.  Once you get your Anti-fragile workouts it and get enough protein, that opens up LOTS of flexibility for what you can do with your food & drink after that.

So give yourself some slack and grace when it comes time to enjoying the foods you enjoy.

Just get your Anti-fragile workouts in,

keep the calories controlled, don't be "all-time bad" like Charlie,

and simply work them into your plan if you want to include them on a regular basis.

Sound good?

And if you should ever end up cutting loose and DO have a massive overeating type of day,  doing a Micro-fast the next day is a great strategy so that it's like it never happened.

I mentioned Mirco-fasting in the last email so be sure to check that out if you don't know.

I have a number of Workout Heroes that will be utilizing this "tool" and working it in to their weekly plans, so I'm excited to report back to the results.

K, gotta get back home and have some lunch.

May you stay on the Path of the Workout Hero (and enjoy your favorite foods) because your awesome future awaits!
